BYD makes car ownership more affordable with longer service intervals

Starting from November 1st, 2024, BYD is extending the service interval for all electric models. The new interval is 2 years or 30,000 km, up from the previous 1 year or 20,000 km. This results in lower operating costs for car owners.

The change introduces longer service intervals for all electric BYD models sold. This applies retroactively to all vehicles sold, including the first BYD cars delivered.

Service Execution

  • Newly registered vehicles: Follow the new service plan.
  • Service interval: Service can now be performed 2 years or 30,000 km after the previous service.
  • Vehicles up to 1 year old: Vehicles that have not yet undergone service will follow the new service plan.
  • Vehicles that are 3 years old: Cars that are 3 years old and have completed the 20,000/40,000 km service can now transition to the new service plan.

The service indicator in the vehicles will be updated via OTA (Over-the-Air updates). Currently, it is not possible to set anything other than 365 days or 20,000 kilometers.

Rust Inspection

Rust inspections will change from annually to every two years, following the new service plan. A ±1 month margin still applies according to the service plan.
